How to Apply:
Undergraduate Students:
The LSRPA awards the Elmeryl Davies Memorial Scholarship annually to undergraduate students in their junior or senior year in a four-year accredited science or engineering program. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through our Student Member program to obtain internships and full-time jobs upon graduation. The LSRPA will determine the amount of the scholarship based on fundraising activities. At this time, we anticipate that the awards will be $3,000 each. Each scholarship is awarded in one disbursement.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must be a LSRPA student member who:
- Is a full-time junior or senior undergraduate who either is enrolled in a college or university located in New Jersey or is a New Jersey resident;
- Is majoring in an accredited science or engineering program, in a field related to the environment; and
- Has a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following:
- Grade point average and other evidence of academic achievement;
- A reference from a professor in your major or from a past or current employer;
- An essay on your career goals; and
- Work experience and involvement in other activities.
Required Application Materials
- A completed signed and dated application (application can be downloaded here)
- A completed essay
- A reference letter
- Transcripts from all schools of higher education attended

Graduate Students:

- Is pursuing a Masters degree or Ph.D. in an accredited science or engineering program, in a field related to the environment.
