Course Description:
The NJDEP has embarked on a rulemaking process encompassing many of its programs to address climate resilience, adaptation and mitigation. The NJ REAL proposed rules will modify a range of DEP programs. The extent and breadth of the rule is significant and will have important impacts to the permitting, remediation, development and redevelopment of contaminated sites. Join us for the second course in a three-part series addressing timely and important issues around sustainability and climate that affect LSRPs and remediation practitioners. Part 1 provided the technical and historical basis and context for the proposed NJ REAL rules, and outlined important rule components affecting remediation. Part 2 will dive deeper into case studies and examples and provide further guidance on integrating land use permitting and remediation under NJ REAL. Topics include:
- Coastal: The Inundation Risk Zone, Climate Adjusted Elevation and Your Project
- Floodproofing: Requirements and Methods
- Stormwater and Green Infrastructure
- Post-Remedial (RAP) Rule Impacts
- Integrating Permitting, Remediation, and Site Planning
NOTE: The LSRPA received many comments asking for a slightly longer program. This course is extended to two (2) hours to provide for additional insights, discussions and attendee engagement.
