Full-Spectrum In Situ PFAS Remediation Using Colloidal Activated Carbon Technologies Remedy: Selection Considerations and Performance ExpectationsDate: July 16, 2024
In this presentation, information will be shared about leading scientific research on the misconceptions surrounding the use of pumping groundwater to flush PFAS from aquifers, specifically the time required to remove PFAS from aquifers to achieve regulatory standards, the expansion of risk and liability due to the pumping generating PFAS waste, and the impacts of increased cost and greenhouse gases. The instructors will then transition to an overview of colloidal activated carbon (CAC) for remediating PFAS impacts in soil and groundwater by highlighting scientific research supporting in situ remedial approaches for PFAS. The attendees will learn key parameters of CAC PFAS remediation designs, longevity and performance expectations, and the cost of PFAS remediation from actual projects.
