This 3-hour professional ethics course for NJ LSRPs will review both general and professional ethical fundamentals and will review the SRRA’s Code of Conduct, examine LSRP ethic requirements, business practices versus the standard of care, and present case studies from presenters and participants. Course Fee: LSRPA Member - $155, Non-Member - $250
** Prospective LSRPs Only** The LSRP Exam Preparation Course reviews the regulations and technical guidance upon which the LSRP Exam is based. This is the only prep course before the April 2020 exam. Waste is generated on almost every remediation project, even in-situ treatment, and it can greatly impact schedule, cost, compliance and liability. This 2-hour course provides instruction to LSRPs and environmental professionals on how to properly identify, classify, treat and dispose of waste material. This 2-hour course will provide focus and instruction on data and information collection in the field, laboratory methods and data validation, in order to ensure reliable data is obtained to support LSRPs’ data analysis and decision making. LSRPs and environmental professionals need to have knowledge and understanding of the land use laws and regulations that apply when investigating and remediating a site. This 2-hour course will provide instruction on the various land use laws, regulations, permits, and approvals, with a specific focus on applicability of Municipal Land Use Law. Wednesday's Courses
The 2-hour course will provide instruction to environmental professionals on how to properly characterize sites in order to design a proper in-situ remediation program. Course topics include initial drilling and investigation, various data types to collect, and the kinds of information that contractors and product suppliers need to have beyond what the regulations may require. PFAs regulation has required a fresh look at many SRP sites, requiring evaluation to identify potential areas of concern which may require investigation and remediation. Review PFAS basics, including terminology, naming conventions, historic uses, and other key information in this 2-hour course. Course Fee: LSRPA Member - $110, Non-Member - $210
Cleaning up New Jersey’s abandoned and underutilized contaminated sites is important to ensure both the protection of human health and the environment and the revitalization of urban areas. This 2-hour course will provide an overview of the New Jersey Brownfields program, including: performing environmental due diligence; responsibilities of different parties; the LSRP and NJDEP roles; and available funding. An overview of the NJDEP’s Community Collaborative Initiative (CCI) will also be presented as it relates to LSRPs. Course Fee: LSRPA Member - $110, Non-Member - $210

Improve your management skills with new tips and tricks in this 1-hour course, illustrated using actual examples from NJDEP reviewer comments. Course Fee: LSRPA Member - $55, Non-Member - $105
Presentation followed by panel discussion and audience Q&A over the course of 1 hour, revolving around the topics of LSRP contractual and insurance issues, emergent risk management issues and loss prevention concerns and practitioner issues, with a focus on how these topics interplay with the LSRPs highest priority: to protect public health and safety and the environment. This course describes what borehole geophysical logging is, its role in the development and refinement of a conceptual site model (CSM), the potential advantage of borehole geophysics on sites, and the applications of different tools in environmental site remediation. The material serves to advance the technical knowledge of the attendees by tackling issues concerning bedding attitude assessment, lithology of bedrock and unconsolidated deposits, borehole deviation, cross flow hydraulics in a borehole, and location and transmissivities of water‐bearing fractures in a well. This course will provide practicing LSRPs and other interested parties with an overview of the New Jersey Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board Rules and discuss areas an LSRP should ensure compliance. These topics include a nexus to and incorporate the Site Remediation Reform Act, Site Remediation administrative and technical regulations and the Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board regulations. Variances are a mechanism to vary from regulation while still complying with the regulatory objective. In this 1-hour course, learn why, when, and how to apply a variance to a project, as well as how to provide sufficient justification and successfully obtain case closure. Trace metals constitute a significant class of groundwater contaminants originating from a variety of sources (industrial wastewater, landfill leachate, fossil fuels, and more) with remediation of metals in groundwater posing a significant challenge. This 2-hour course will provide a background in the understanding of reaction chemistry and treatment options for metals in ground water and allow LSRPs to better understand contaminant behavior and available treatment options. SRRA 2.0 has implemented key changes to the original 2009 legislation; awareness of these changes is imperative for LSRPs and environmental practitioners to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
