Description: The goal of this informative technical presentation is to follow the life of a sample: from its collection by an environmental professional, transport to the lab, its analysis, and eventual disposal. Having a strong understanding of the way a laboratory processes a sample will assist the environmental professional in placing a sample bottle order, preparing the chain of custody/sample labeling, interacting with the laboratory, and eventually obtaining the data you need for your project.
This training will focus on the importance of a Chain of Custody (COC) and what happens to a sample once it enters the possession of the laboratory. Students of this course will strengthen their understanding of the “whats, whys, and hows” of the laboratory processes.
